CMAT Online registration Extended to 22nd January, 2012.


In the light of latest notifications issued by some State Governments and to facilitate the aspiring candidates, the DATE for ONLINE REGISTRATION for ALL-INDIA computer based CMAT-2012, conducted by AICTE for admission into Management programmes that includes MBA and PG diploma has been EXTENDED to 22nd January, 2012.

All aspiring candidates willing to appear for CMAT-2012 should apply to their earliest so that they can secure their first choice for Date and City for appearing the Test.

All India council for Technical Education (AICTE) will conduct the Common Management Admissions Test (CMAT) 2012 as an entrance test for admission to 4,000 colleges that offer MBA and 500 colleges which run postgraduate diploma in management programs.

Institutes accepting CMAT:
4000+ B-Schools recognised by AICTE are expected to accept the CMAT.

No. of seats available through CMAT:
The CMAT 2012 is expected to be administered to about 250,000 candidates all over India and abroad.

List of Test Centres for CMAT:

ABOUT THE CMAT:
Mode of delivery of the CMAT:
The CMAT is planned as an online "Computer Based Test". (CBT)
CMAT Test Frequency:
The CMAT is expected to be conducted multiple times in a year.
CMAT Test Eligibility:
Graduates with 50% in any discipline. Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.

Expected Duration of the CMAT: 3 hours (180 minutes).
Expected Time per section in CMAT: 45 minutes.
Expected Marking Scheme for CMAT:1 mark per correct answer. Incorrect answers will carry a penalty of ¼ th mark.

Important Dates for CMAT

CMAT Dates:
The test is tentatively scheduled to be conducted within a 9 day test window starting from: 20th February 2012 and ending on 28th February 2012.

CMAT Notification, Form Availability and Registration:
The test notification is expected to be released in the first/second week of November 2011. Check the IMS website for updates.

Other stages including CMAT announcement, registration, application process, issue of admit cards, and result declaration will take place online.

Forms will be available online or at select branches of a nationalized bank.

CMAT Results:
All India and state wise ranks for the CMAT are expected to be announced end of March 2012.

AICTE -CMAT-2012 dates announced

AICTE (All India council for Technical Education) has announced the conduct of Common Management Admissions Test (CMAT) 2012 with the purpose of selecting suitable students for their post-graduate programmes in management.

CMAT 2012 is scheduled to be conducted from 20 Feb to 28 Feb 2012.CMAT-2012 is expected to be administered to about 250,000 candidates all over India through test centres covering as many venues as required.

Institutes accepting CMAT
2000+ AICTE-recognised B-Schools with 1.6 lakh plus seats are expected to accept CMAT scores.

Structure of CMAT
AICTE has announced its intention to conduct CMAT as an online computer based test (though the possibility of it being a paper-and-pencil test in the year 2012 is still not ruled out). The test will contain MCQs(multiple choice questions) based on four sections viz. Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. The test duration will be around 3 hours.

CMAT 2012 Exam Details

Calibre Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) is a standard test to assess the general aptitude of candidates for admission to various Management Colleges in India.
Calibre Mindware Programming Pvt. Ltd. is only conducting the test and has nothing to do with the admission process of the different management schools, which accept its scores. Students who take the CMAT do not automatically get considered for admission by the management schools that accept the CMAT scores for their admission unless they apply to them.

CMAT Exam Eligibility:
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree with at least 40% Marks or equivalent CGPA awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or should possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Students in the final year of the degree course may also apply subject to conditions.
